Senior Manager, Technical Operations Dubai Media City (United Arab Emirates)

The Senior Manager, Technical Operations has end-to-end responsibility for the technical operations for each customer and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer of the company. The role includes planning and managing technical deployments at each customer site, defining the core technical and operations processes for managing service operations, and defining and implementing ongoing improvements to service operations. The role is both customer-facing, working with both IT and marketing management in each hotel, and technical, requiring a clear understanding of the hotel IT environment (Networking, Security, PMS, etc.).

You are a highly motivated to join a growing, fast-paced team in a completely new and innovative business area. You are technically skilled and love working on projects where you can directly see how your work translates to value for the customer. You have extensive experience with Micros-Fidelio Opera, SQL databases, WiFi, Ethernet, and networking security protocols. You’re honest, trustworthy, and loyal. You derive satisfaction daily from completing practical tasks ranging from the simplest break-fix work to complex project management.

You have:

• Hospitality industry experience - in IT management roles or IT senior engineer roles with expertise in both networking and the Micros-Fidelio Opera PMS.

• Process and project management skills - proven command of project management and process definition and implementation.

• System and database administration skills - proven command of Windows/Linux system and SQL database administration.

• Excellent communications skills - perfect command of English, and ideally also some Arabic, French and/or other language skills.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Understand the hotel’s IT and be totally focused on serving customers with a tailored implementation of SweetBeam’s unique service. You will specifically:

• Manage customer setup and support - participate in pre-sale meetings to present options to the hotel’s IT team, drive the project implementation on time and on budget, execute site surveys and installations (screens,WiFi,Ethernet, secure PMS link), and implement customer support (reporting, maintenance)

• Manage production resources - provision, manage and administration of production servers, and management of screen inventory and supply

• Contribute to technology development and process improvements - learn from practical cases to architect and/or improve operational processes, and share issues and ideas to help improve SweetBeam’s technology.

The Client Services Director is a new kind of strategic marketing role. The Client Services Director has end-to-end responsibility - from strategy development for each customer to managing SweetBeam Service delivery. The role is largely customer-facing, with management-level contacts in each hotel. It is immersed in the richness and complexity of the high-end hospitality businesses. With accountability for the quality of the customer relationship and for the delivery and enhancement of the Service over time, the position requires an unusual combination of personal relationship management and strategic marketing skills.

The Client Services Director understands hotel guests and is passionate about the guest experience. She or he develops effective ways for each hotel to cross-sell and up-sell F&B, spa, entertainment and a host of other amenities. The Client Services Director also helps customers improve brand loyalty, cross-sell between properties and find new and innovative uses for and enhancements to SweetBeam’s personalized, 1:1 guest communications. Solid analytical skills combined with creative thinking is essential for success in this role.

The Client Services Director is comfortable with numbers and has experience dealing with data and spreadsheets. She or he has a mind for revenue, margins and elasticity of demand. The Client Services Director also has the personal touch, the attention to detail and the rigor in execution to deliver a five-star service experience worthy of SweetBeam’s five-star clients.

Key responsibilities of the Client Services Director include:

• Conduct assessments of each hotel’s outlets and services (F&B, Spa, leisure...) and guest typologies (nationality, business/leisure/group, behaviors, interests, consumption patterns...).
• Identify and quantify revenue upside opportunities, as well as areas for guest service enhancement. Develop strategies to tailor SweetBeam Service modules to the specific opportunities each hotel presents.
• Develop creative briefs and work with SweetBeam design team to build content and custom program for each hotel.
• Mange and update timelines and project plans.
• Lead efficient, on-time Service setup and deployment at each client property (delivered by design, programming, installation, analytics teams as well as hotel and/or third-parties).
• Manage ongoing customer relationships, increasing their satisfaction and value, including:
• Analyze Service impact on Revenue per Occupied Room.
• Manage customer reporting and regular reviews.
• Identify opportunities and propose and deploy enhancements to the SweetBeam program at the hotel. Deploy new Service modules and encourage Service utilization.
• Help customers identify new types of promotions that leverage SweetBeam capabilities.
• Manage non-recurring special events (content development and deployment).
• Manage relationships with third-parties, especially luxury brands / advertisers.
• Oversee any customer support or service issues.
• Overall, become a partner to all key executives within customer organization, understand their needs and expectations, and ensure they are clearly exceeded by SweetBeam.

Experience

The business analyst manages all aspects of the measuring the effectiveness of the SweetBeam service at each hotel, including creating the measurement strategy, structuring the data dimensions and sources, implementing the analysis, reporting to the SweetBeam executive team, and recommending ongoing adjustments to the programs and program structure for each hotel. Your objective is to ensure continually improving effectiveness as defined by measurable attributes and key indicators such as increased revenue, optimized yield on fixed assets, and guest satisfaction. The position involves liaising with senior managers in luxury hotels.
